Now that Spring 2011 Bridal Market has wrapped, let’s spend the week taking a look at the collections that stood out among the rest. First up:  Adele Wechsler.

Wechsler’s newest collection still draws on ethereal draping and light fabrics while remaining eco-conscious and gorgeous. She continues to prove that environmentally-friendly wedding gowns do not have to be frumpy or low-quality. I was also happy to see that she gave a nod to the little white dress concept that has successfully sealed its place as an option for brides that are not afraid to show a little leg.

Appliqués were the name of the game at Reem Acra this season. The gowns this season were accented with white floral accents, adding a frilly touch to the overall dreamy aesthetic.

Josh Brooks and Jung Lee of Fete are here to stay-well, for the fall, anyway.

The new show Wedded to Perfection premieres tomorrow night on TLC. I can’t wait to see this husband-and-wife duo tackle the issues related to planning over-the-top extravagant wedding celebrations in the bustling city of New York on top of raising a family. Let the glamour-and, the stress- begin!

The wait is over!

This Sunday, September 27, marks the second season of the ever-glamorous My Fair Wedding. The multi-talented (and ridiculously handsome) David Tutera returns to totally transform what could have been a tacky affair into a wedding that just oozes style, class, and elegance. Let’s see how Tutera takes on the new bevy of brides whose big days need a bit of tweaking from the expert. I can’t wait to see what he does this season!

…Oh, and this is the 100th post on Chicista Weddings! Everybody celebrate!

The latest copy of InStyle Weddings (one of the best wedding magazines out there!) features the gorgeous Christina Hendricks, who portrays Joan Holloway on AMC’s mega-hit drama series Mad Men. I already loved her for her body confidence and acting chops, but her interview shows that she’s poised to be a modern-day Hollywood darling. And, she looks fabulous in a wedding gown!

Wait, didn’t I write a post about this show some time ago?

Why, yes, yes I did. However, this isn’t a sneak peak we’re talking about. TLC’s Masters of Reception is showing its official series premire tonight! Now, we’ll be able to follow the Frungillo brothers weekly as they tackle the challenges and enjoy the triumphs of running one of New Jersey’s most successful reception halls. Episodes will run every Tuesday at 10:00 PM, Eastern time.

The event I gushed about in a previous post has come and gone-and, I had a blast! The event space Signature Gardens in Miami, FL hosts an annual bridal show. With having a friend who is about to tie the knot, she decided to make a night out of the event, inviting all of her close friends to share in exploring the vendors in the South Florida area.

Signature Gardens is counted among the elite of banquet halls in Miami, and for good reason. The staff members are friendly and efficient, the event spaces are gorgeous and the food is exquisite. Couple this with the list of preferred vendors (all who were present to show off their wares) and you’ve got an elegant wedding that will become a pleasant memory in your mind and the minds of your guests. With that, I close with some photos of the event. But, sit tight! I have a long list of vendors to highlight-and, one of them will soon have an online shop in which you may purchase a long coveted item…

For those brides in the South Florida area searching for a venue, here is the link to the Signature Gardens website.

Great news! A close friend of the family is slated to get married this year and has asked me to join her at a bridal expo in Miami this Wednesday and naturally, I accepted. I will be writing a review of the even complete with photographs, so sit tight. I can barely contain my excitement!

TNT already has plenty of fantastic scripted dramas (The Closer is a favorite of mine). But on June 16th the network will test the waters of reality TV…and weddings.

The new reality series Wedding Day will focus on deserving couples with not a lot of money for a dream wedding. The show will be hosted by celebrity planners Alan Dunn and Diann Valentine and will chronicle how family and friends come together to make sure the couple’s big day is a stylish success. The series premieres on June 16th, so set your TiVos!

First, I would like to apologize for not featuring this sooner.

WeTV’s series Amazing Wedding Cakes kicked off its second season this past Sunday with some notable changes (warning, SPOILERS). For one thing, Lauri of The Cake Atelier in New York City is now independent of her “wet blanket” partner (to which I say good riddance) and has thus established a new shop dubbed Cake Alchemy. Judging from the shots of the cakes that she has made and the cake she created in the premiere, it looks like Lauri gets to stretch her creative wings (to which I say HUZZAH!).

In other “break-up” news Marc of Cake Divas has joined forces with Reva to form Merci Beaucoup Cakes in Los Angeles, California. Again, I’m looking forward to seeing the results of this new business.

Thankfully, The Cake Girls of Chicago, Illinois are still intact and cranking out gorgeous cakes.

Also, a second shop in California-Orange County, to be exact-has joined the ranks. Christopher Russom is the owner of Christopher Garren’s Cakes which specializes in high end, glamorous confections. I must say, the cake featured on the premiere episode was stunning and it left me wanting to see more. Garren, however, seems a tad abrasive and I’d like to see how it affects his coworkers.

We have yet to see from Merci Beaucoup because they seem to be alternating face time with Christopher Garren’s Cakes (after all, they are in the same state).
