Retro City Chic

The latest from Farah Angsana is suited for the edgy bride in search of new textures and dramatic embellishment. The shameless addition of over-the-top details on classic silhouettes makes for a stand-out presentation on the runway and down the aisle.

In keeping with my love/fixation with retro fashion, I naturally have to feature the latest from Jenny Packham. Her 1930s/1940s glamour aesthetic is just fabulous. I mean, what’s not to love?

“Drama” is definitely the word for Kenneth Pool’s newest collection. These gowns are definitely not for a shrinking violet; brides looking to make a grand entrance should look in this direction. Come on, with Austin Scarlett of Project Runway being the creative director, did you really expect anything short of spectacular?

I’m caught up in the simple dreaminess of the latest from Christos. The touches of champagne and gold (along with frothy details) are enough for the fantasy, but the classic silhouettes bring the frocks right back down to reality.

It’s that time again! The bridal designers have come out to play and are sending oodles of gorgeous wedding frocks down the runway. Be sure to check back often for collection highlights by yours truly!

As I went through my own hair and makeup trial for a wedding I will be walking in next week (which, by the way, was a success), I figured it would be a good idea to share a few helpful artcles dealing with big day beauty for the brides and for my fellow ‘maids.
